L’archéologie française dans l’Asie centrale soviétique et post-soviétique
Abstracts
This article presents the main features of the history of French archaeology and, more broadly, the Western archeology in Central Asia from the soviet period to the present day. Highlighting the specific context of its development in the divided scientific space imposed by the political regimes, it also shows how the dialogue established during this process between the Western and the Soviet and post-Soviet archaeology has sometimes turned into opposition or misunderstanding.
